Turn your best prompt into a skill
Lesson 2 of 3 · Claude & Cowork mastery
1 · Learn the move · Tool choice + routing
A prompt you have refined four times is a skill waiting to be saved: a name, a trigger ('use when...'), the steps, the guardrails, and the output shape. The notice-translation prompt is the obvious first one - it runs every season, it has fixed rules (de-identified in, no figure the notice did not carry, deadline as printed), and it has a fixed output.
Turn this prompt into a skill: name, when-to-use line, steps, guardrails, output shape. Keep every rule from the prompt and add the one I always have to say afterward: [rule].
2 · Your turn. You write the prompt
Your notice-translation prompt is the best thing you have built. It lives in a text file you paste from. Make it a skill, with the client-data gate and the no-figure rule as guardrails, not hopes.
Write the prompt for this scenario as given, or swap in a real one from your own work. The score works the same either way.
Remember: the AI sees only your prompt, not this page. If the situation isn't in your prompt, it doesn't exist.
Optional. These shape the output when you run your prompt below, not your score.
