Your skill kit
Six skills that run the whole flow on your own work: interview, brief, small jobs, one job at a time, a check in a new chat, and a look back. Each is plain text. Save it as a saved prompt, a project instruction or a skill file in whatever assistant you use, and keep it.
1 of 6 · Interview
Interview me first
Before a bigger piece of work or a decision, it asks you the questions you would skip.
Example. I say I want a plain words explanation of a notice for a client. Round one asks who reads it, what they must do next and by when, and what stays out. Its recommended answer to the last: no estimate of any penalty.
Where to save it
- Claude. Upload the skill folder as a skill, or paste the text into a Project's instructions. In Claude Code, put the folder in your skills folder.
- ChatGPT. Paste the text into a Project's instructions or a custom GPT's instructions, or into your custom instructions.
- Gemini. Paste the text into a Gem's instructions.
- Copilot. Paste the text into a Notebook's instructions, or keep it in a file you attach when you need it.
- Any other assistant. Keep the file. Paste it at the start of a chat, then say which job you are on.
Then run it on one real piece of work and change the wording until it sounds like you.
Licence and credit
This skill is adapted from the grilling skill in an open source set, the skills library. The wording and examples are rewritten for your work. The original licence travels with it. Every download carries NOTICE.md, and the copied text ends with a credit line.

2 of 6 · Brief
Write the one page brief
Turns what you agreed into one page you can hand to any chat as standing context.
Example. Brief for the notice explanation. Problem: clients panic when a notice arrives. Result: one page that says what the notice is, what to do and by when. Out of scope: any penalty estimate. Figures are placeholders until I fill them in.

3 of 6 · Jobs
Cut it into small jobs
Cuts the brief into jobs that each work alone, and marks which ones need your OK.
Example. 1 Pull the dates and amounts from the notice summary (check: matches the document). 2 Draft the plain words page. 3 A preparer reads it before anything goes to the client, which needs my OK.

4 of 6 · Do
Do one job and check it
Does one job from the list, checks it, and stops at anything that needs your OK.
Example. I paste job 2, draft the plain words page. It drafts it from the placeholders, checks every date and amount against the notice summary, and marks one amount VERIFY.

5 of 6 · Check
Check the work two ways
In a new chat, checks the work against your brief and against your own rules, one list each.
Example. Pass one finds the page never says by when the client must reply. Pass two finds a rate that came from memory, marked VERIFY, and a sentence that reads as advice.

6 of 6 · Look back
Look back and fix the setup
After a piece of work or a week, it suggests changes to your setup so the next run goes better.
Example. It notices every draft needed the same engagement scope pasted in, and suggests a references file for it. It suggests a rule that every rate is marked VERIFY until I check it.
